Makeup Review: Sephora Color Play 5-in-1 Limited Fashion Edition
Cost: 25$
Worth: 150$
I got this kit for Christmas, and I have been testing it out since then (approx. 2 months). This has turned into my everyday makeup, I love this set. It is a collection of five, mini, full-look palettes, each with 10 eye shadows, 2 lip colors, and 1 blush. Each of the palettes have a name, Boho Bombshell, Classics never die, Angelic Boudoir, Black is the new Black, and A nod to Mod. All of the eye shadows are pigmented, and most of them are smooth (although one or two of the palettes have a chunky glitter shadow). All of the colors blend well, and the lip colors range from very pigmented to practically sheer, and are very smooth.
1. Boho Bombshell - Most of the shadows in this palette have a satin finish, except for the dark teal at the top, this has a bit more glitter to it. And the dark blue next to it is mostly matte with bits of glitter in it.
-In this palette, you get a dark blue, dark teal, warm taupe, a deep burgundy, a gunmetal silver, a lighter burgundy color,a very light silver, a warm golden color, a creme color, and a pale skin toned color.
-The lip colors in this palette (a red and dark brownish red) are both extremely pigmented.
-The blush is a deep rosy color, good for contouring, and for the cheeks if you use a very light hand and blend well (can easily be overdone).
2. Classics Never Die - You get a lot more matte colors in this palette than the last one.
-The top two are both matter, a brownish-gray color as well as an olive-toned brown (my eyebrow color - if any of you have dark brown hair - this is perfect!). The next two rows have more of a satin finish, A taupe-brown color, a yellow-gold, a very light taupe brown, and a darker gold, the next is a matte light taupe color (this may be good for blondes' eyebrow color :) a lighter orangey-gold, a matte light peach color, and a very light sating creme color.
-The lip colors, a berry pink and a pinky-red are also very pigmented and extremely glossy.
-The blush is a light peachy-pink color very good for your cheeks, and easy to apply and blend.
3. Angelic Boudoir - A bit more colorful than the last two, very pretty, feminine colors. Most satin finishes.
-There is a green-teal color, a dark purple-pink color, royal blue, an olive color, a gray-silver, a dusty-rose color, a pastel purple, a tan-taupe, a glittery white (chunky glitter) and a matte light peach.
-The two lip colors, a peachy-pink and a shimmery white, are both on the sheer side.
-The blush is a bright pink great for cheeks, and easily blended.
4. Black is the new Black - (Cheesy name hehe :o) This palette is mostly blacks and grays, it is great for smokey eyes (dramatic or simple).
-The first color is a matte black then a matte gray, a sparkly black (chunky glitter, most of which is lost when applied :o( and the glitter that is on your eyelid feels bad) A dark gunmetal, a dark silver, a gray-silver, a light silver, a light peach-tan color, a matte white, and a dusty rose.
-The first lip color is a baby-doll pink which is pretty pigmented, and the next is a very nude and sheer gloss.
-The blush is a very pale pink which is very light and gives you a nice glowy blush.
5. A nod to Mod - Very colorful and fun :oD
-The eye colors are a dark forest green, a very light blue- teal, a bright green, a matte teal, a bright fuschia, a bright orange, a matte purple, a gold, a two-tone creme-white (in certain lights it looks blue purple :o), and a creme color.
-The lip colors are a two tone pink which is very pigmented ( favorite lip color in this set! :o) and a shimmery pink which is sheer.
-The blush is VERY bright pink, its so fun - and i only use it occasionally, its a very pretty color, but if you use it be sure to blend it well or it looks kind of clownish :o)
Over all, I love all of the colors and shadows and lip colors and blushes in this set. I think the best thing about is that there is a pop out set so you can put one palette in there and take it with you wherever you go.
I hope this post was helpful :o) xoxo
